Americans For Legal Marijuana (AFLM) is an independent civic advocacy organization. Our petition is available at americansforlegalmarijuana.com. We are not affiliated with any government agency, political party, or commercial cannabis business.

What Information We Collect

When you sign our petition, we collect the following information:

First and Last Name - to verify petition signatures
Email Address - to send you petition updates and progress reports
Phone Number - optional, collected only if you choose to provide it
State of Residence - to report petition results by state to elected representatives
Date of Birth - to verify that you are 18 years of age or older

We also collect basic technical information automatically, including the date and time of your submission and the general source page where you signed.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively for the following purposes:

To record and verify your petition signature
To compile petition data for submission to elected officials in Washington D.C.
To send you updates on the petition's progress and related advocacy news
To report aggregate signature counts by state (never individual names) in public communications

What We Will Never Do

We want to be completely clear about what we will never do with your information:

We will never sell your personal information to any third party
We will never rent or lease your contact information to advertisers or marketers
We will never share your individual information with cannabis businesses, political campaigns, or commercial organizations
We will never use your information for any purpose other than petition advocacy and related updates

Data Storage and Security

Petition signatures are stored securely using Google Sheets, protected by Google's enterprise-grade security infrastructure. Access to this data is restricted to authorized AFLM staff only.

We retain your information for as long as it is needed to support the petition campaign. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to:

Request a copy of the information we hold about you
Request correction of any inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information from our records
Opt out of email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send
