Indiana remains one of the most restrictive states in the Midwest, where marijuana possession carries significant penalties. Bordered by Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio which have all fully legalized recreational cannabis, Indiana residents face a stark double standard where the same activity is legal minutes away but criminal at home. Federal legalization would end this geographic injustice and bring Indiana residents equal protection under the law.
